We make a “New York” Style Bagel. What does this mean? The term “New York” refers to a boiling process before baking. The boiling process yields a harder exterior shell, while keeping the inside chewy, true to a New York bagel. This unique process offers a different bagel that most westerners aren’t familiar with. The bagels are made and baked daily on site. We search for and use only the highest quality ingredients for our bagels, cream cheeses, sandwiches, and coffees. We add no preservatives to our products. Our cream cheeses are whipped daily and sandwiches made to order.

Locally owned and homegrown, Rounds Bakery (formerly known as The Bagel Stand) has been serving the Truckee Meadows since 1992. In 2010, Zak Gilbert purchased it from a local businessman. While we are going to maintain the great recipes and flavors of past ownership we also want to add some new bagel flavors in the future. We’ve recently added Sourdough and Rye bagels to our menu. Additionally, we will be coming out with new bagel products and certain pastries. As always we will offer a great tasting product with top notch customer service.

Owner, Zak Gilbert is a local businessman who has taken a strong interest in the Northern Nevada community. He graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1997 and after spending several years with large multinationals chose to settle in Reno in 2001. He has been active in the community and loves to support local businesses. He and his wife Kacey have two dogs and love to hike the trails in the area.
