Eric R. Kroll, O.D.

Dr Kroll a native Nevadan has practiced Optometry since 1984 at our current location. He graduated with honors from Reno High School, with high distinction from the University Of Nevada and with distinction from the Southern California College of Optometry. During high school and college Dr Kroll was better known as “Eric Preston” on KCBN radio.

Dr Kroll and his wife of 30 years Christie have two children. Kara their oldest is finishing her fourth year at the Southern California college of Optometry. Their son Cameron is a senior at the University of California Berkeley and is a two time Nevada state pole vault champion and high school all-american.

Dr Kroll is a past-president of Alpha Epsilon Delta, the University’s pre-med honor society, a current member of Beta Sigma Kappa and the National Optometry Honor fraternity.

In 1987, Dr. Kroll was instrumental in creating and establishing “Give One Day,” a program in which a group of optometrists donate one day a year to provide free eye care to the working poor. This is an on-going program, even today.

Christy L. Lighthouse, O.D.

Dr.Lighthouse joined the practice in 1999. She is a native Nevadan who graduated from the University of Nevada,Reno with a Bachelor of Science degree with distinction. While at UNR, Dr. Lighthouse served as secretary of Eta Gamma National Honor Society and was a member of the Golden Key National Honor Society.

In 1995 she was accepted to Pacific University College of Optometry. Dr lighthouse graduated in 1999 with a doctor in Optometry degree and an award for Viskaton Excellence in Contact Lens Patient Care.

Dr lighthouse’s education includes internships at the Salt Lake City Veteran’s Hospital, the Moran Eye Center at the University of Utah, and the Seventh Day Adventist Eye Center on the island of Guam. The focus of her training beyond primary eye care was contact lens fitting of post-surgical and keratoconic corneas. Additionally, she received training in the co-management of cataract surgery, LASIK surgery, and diseases of the eye. Her training allowed her to manage diverse populations with numerous ocular diseases and conditions.
